James La Trobe-Bateman
C0-Founder & CEO
James has been making organizations more fit for human habitation…since 1997. With a strong background in global medical device and diagnostics manufacturing & markets consultancy, James has successfully expanded his business areas from operations through new product development into marketing, providing a holistic view that connects the shop floor with company presidents. His ability to quantify shop floor operations and coach staff to identify and buy into solutions has led to significant capacity increases, such as a $15M year on year increase for an overnight change in a healthcare manufacturing company. James’s proprietary operations modelling method has resolved contract re-negotiation impasses, saved clients millions, restored crucial business relationships and stopped manufacturing closures in several countries.
James’s career began in 1981 in the oil and petrochemical industry, where he developed a systematic approach to predicting the effects of organizational changes. Transitioning to the healthcare manufacturing industry in 1985, he continued to drive international operations improvements and new product development. As an internal consultant for Johnson & Johnson Clinical Diagnostics, James implemented logistic and organizational improvements, increasing sales and managing risks associated with international ventures. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards like the Global Innovation Award from Bristol-Myers Squibb. An engineering graduate of Cambridge University, James is also an accomplished author and mentor, known for his ability to turn data into actionable insights that drive exponential growth and innovation in the industries he serves.
